Taralouise is a skilled Social Media Marketer and Event Manager, and the founder of ZINC Media Agency. She helps businesses find their creative voice through a variety of services and workshops. With her team of thinkers and makers, she has been bringing her clients’ ideas into existence since 2013.
Originally from The Wirral, Merseyside, Taralouise moved to Bundoran, Co.Donegal in 2008. Now married with three young children, she’s never looked back.
When she was on maternity leave with her second child in 2012, she started ZINC Media Agency on the back of Bundoran Stag & Hen weekends. With a steadyily growing business, she then offered her services to the people of Donegal, and her business started to thrive exponentially. She became a core member of many businesses in Donegal, helping start-ups and small businesses make their goals a reality. Whether it was being a sounding board or offering advice to other entrepreneurs, she found that she loved every minute of it!
She has worked with many Donegal based clients including Sea Sessions, Salt Water Festival, Bundoran Adventure Park, Mc Eniff Hotel Group, andAll Things Fiona Lily. Most recently, she has started to work with UK based company’s, Eastlife and Bedslife. She now manages both publicationsin terms of digital and social media accounts.
While Taralouise is well known as a successful entrepreneur in Donegal, she is also known in her area for being a mental health advocate. Having lived with mental health issues for most of her life, she has been fortunate enough to come out the other side. She dealt with post-natal depression after the birth of her first son and had a mental breakdown in 2016 that lead to her trying to end everything. She is a suicide survivor and incredibly proud of how her hard work over the past few years, has helped her to not only to grow as a person but as a mother and a business owner too. While she still lives with depression and anxiety, she has managed to turn her demons into stepping posts. By educating herself on mental health, she has brought hope to others with being at the forefront of some amazing mental health inititives in her area.
Taralouise is now taking part in Acorns+. The ACORNS programme has been designed to support early-stage female entrepreneurs living in rural Ireland and runs over six months part-time. Based on a belief that entrepreneurs learn best from each other, the ACORNS initiative is centred on interactive round table sessions that are facilitated by female entrepreneurs, known as ‘Lead Entrepreneurs’, who have started and successfully grown businesses in rural Ireland.
She also hosts a podcast called, ‘The Zinc Coffee Break’, where she chats with inspirational people from all walks of life on subjects like mental health, entrepreneurship, social media and lots more! She is an inspiration to many in her area, showing that even in those difficult times, that it’s possible to overcome hardship, grow and flourish both personally and professionally.
